You Owe You

This guy at work won R10k on this incentive the business was running.

Now he’s the target of sarcastic commentary.

People asking him for R1k then making comments & silly requests like “can you give me R1l?” “what is R1k to you? Something you can easily giveaway surely.”

People don’t grind but feel entitled over the fruits of someone else’s labor.

WTF.200351164-001

How dare they shine on his shine.

Bloody mofos.

Reminds me of scavengers.

Get yours.

He doesn’t owe you.

In fact, You Owe You.

What Are You Passionate About?

garySh** I thought I had a draft pending.

It would have been easier.

But life is not easy.

Read somewhere that you become better.

But anyways, I wanted to write about how I hate this guy I was reading about.

He works on like 4 hours of sleep every day, and gets a lot done.

Because he’s got stuff to do & doesn’t procrastinate.

Without bitching about how tired he is the next day.

I go on about 9 hours of sleep and moan about how worn out I am.

Especially when I’m about to enter the gates of hell….I mean the gates leading to the entrance at work.

Gary loves what he does.

I wonder how it feels to wake up every day to do your life’s work.

To wake up, spending the day doing work you are passionate about.

I mean, it made me wonder: what are you passionate about?

And the guy just keeps on chunking away at it.

Day in & day out.

He doesn’t give a f*** whether you are following him or not.

He just keeps on pushing content after content.

Not skipping a beat.

He says he’s in it for the long run.

Something to think about, especially when we love these quick fix lifestyle we’re currently living.

Some of life’s principles never change regardless of how fast things are.

“Don’t wish it was easier wish you were better. Don’t wish for less problems wish for more skills. Don’t wish for less challenge wish for more wisdom” – Jim Rohn

“Dead Or Alive, You Are Coming With Me.”

loopable-ekg-line-ekg-monitor-ekg-machine-heart-health-blue-ecg-monitor-shows-healthy-heart-beat-seamless-loop_sfw_cr5e__F0002

Been having a lot of pent up anger of late.

It compounds.

Lack of sleep.

Haven’t been reading a good book for almost a week now.

Missing out on my daily meditations.

Haven’t been rewriting my goals.

Not been listening to motivational audios.

Skipping motivational & educational videos.

It’s been months since I’ve been visualizing my success.

I haven’t been exercising as much as I did.

Been poorly taking my vitamins and supplements.

All things happening daily, gradually, to a point where I feel exhausted physically and mentally.

Dropping my emotional intelligence.

I’m in the business of where losing your cool would cost you your job.

That love and hate relationship of being concerned of losing the job you hate.

Where now I incorrectly blame others for my lack of self mastery.

You attract what you are.

Happiness is an inside job.

Won’t happen overnight, but you can change your direction overnight.

The rest is just consistency on your part.

Change begins when you take 100% responsibility of what’s happening around you.

To you.

Through you.

F*** Your Weaknesses, Focus On Your Strengths

woman-lifting-dumbbellsLife teaches you lessons.

Lessons it will keep on teaching until they are learnt.

Sometimes these lessons come in the form of painful experiences.

These painful experiences keep repeating themselves in the form of problems.

Once you solve them then you’re on to the next.

A life of problems.

A life of challenges that need to be overcome.

So in actuality one can’t really be comfortable.

Because living a successful life you would need to be overcoming challenges that brings you closer to the things you want.

Taking breaks are a must but procrastinating won’t get you much.

More of the same really.

Spending the majority of my day, doing something that does not inspire me, only to get paid just enough to meet my monthly expenses…

No wonder they call it a dead-end job.

There something that John Maxwell wrote about not working on your weaknesses.

Referring to your skill set.

I was like, “What??”

I love the way he broke it down for me.

Your strengths make you unique. They make you, YOU.

All that other garbage needs to be left in the wind…Ohk I am paraphrasing.

What I am getting at is: spend the most of your days doing things that you love.

Life is too short to be doing things you hate.

Escaping the jail of your 9-5, to do what you love, needs work.

Something to do alongside your work.

Your side hustle.

Your side hustle is your get-out-of-jail-free card.

But that’s a blog for another day.

You need to love your life’s work, I’m just saying.

Replace Your S** t Habits With Good Ones

I kept on seeing and hearing the name Simon Sinek being projected in my head.

Simon Sinek.

As if stuck in the frontal lobe of my brain.

Simon Sinek.

All this, haunting, while trying to sleep.

So here I am, writing about him.

I don’t know much about him.

He was first brought to my attention by a business partner who has a background in medicine.

Google Sinek.

From the little I know of him is that he’s a speaker.

He speaks about most about leadership. On what defines a leader and what drives her. Reasons why they are true leaders. Amongst other things.

He’s available on different social media sites, I also follow him on Twitter and IG.

He’s an author as well, he wrote Start With Why.

And there are lots of videos on the ‘Tube that have he’s talks.

I think there’s a vid of one of his talks I posted in one of my blogs that I thought was awesome.

There’s a bias that comes with being a leader that I want to take advantage of.

The monetary benefits of being paid to solve problems being one of them.

It’s as if followers create problems while leaders get paid to solve them.

So I’ve been listening to some of his audios as well. Him, John Maxwell and Gary Vaynerchuk are the 3 guys I’ve been filling my head with of late.

And Eric Thomas. #TGIM

I guess I can be obsessed with certain things in my life, such as my personal development.

If I don’t invest the time for it, noone else will.

Then I will just be like the rest of them, blaming my job or spouse or community or the government or the gods for my current, undesirable situations.

Not realising that the true problem here is me.

I fix me, all else gets fixed.

It’s an inside job.

The Secret to Making Money…

rands-9ad1b14f-large

I sometimes have these enlightening moments during the taxi ride to work in the afternoons.

Busy observing. The homeless in particular of late.

They understand how to make money.

Maybe it’s a matter of better managing the money they are getting to better their financial situation.

Much like most of us.

But they know how to make money.

They understand the principle of making money.

Cause & effect.

Service & reward.

Service rendered gets compensated …usually.

Some beg.

And through their appeal for sympathy, and with the power of the law of averages, some are paid for it.

Cause & effect.

Their actions are being paid for.

Others do tricks, another income generating practice, like a dance routine.

We black folks love to dance.

The entertainment industry, is a trillion dollar industry.

We might as well tap in to it.

This act is a form of service offered.

Zim-Zam-Zimbabwe-tourism-to-use-rands-800x400

And after the street dancing act, before the robots go green, they walk along the driver’s side, hat in hand, asking for pay.

Heck I even saw a juggler today, it’s been a while.

Others even help with parking. Assuming that you can’t park. To then proceed to tell you that they will “look after” your car while you are away.

And then when you come back, they ask for any financial contribution for their effort.

Here you were thinking you’re avoiding paid parking.

It reminded me of how earning money isn’t that hard.

It comes as a result of providing a service.

Providing a service to others.

Ideally a service that they need.

If you want to make more money, then you would need to increase the amount of people you serve.

Making money is not rocket science.

Not for those willing to put in the work.

There really is no secret to making money, come to think of it.

You are paid in accordance to the service you provide.

You Are What You Accept

4694342-Jay-Z-Quote-Don-t-ever-go-with-the-flow-Be-the-flowYou teach people how you would like to be treated, by how you react to what they say or do.

Either by acceptance of what they do to you or by you reprimanding them.

To correct someone on how you would like to be treated, I believe, comes from raising your standards.

Low standards allows them to continue “taking advantage” of you, while raising them educates them on how you would like to be treated.

It takes courage to put yourself first.

It takes courage futhi to “equip” people on how you like to be treated, in order for them to bring out the best in you.

It’s a win-win.

Reminds me of how I cringe when people organize events at the last minute and expect me to participate.

9 times out of 10 I don’t. If I do, it is with a closed heart.

Give me time to think it over in my mind as a typical melancholy. Don’t pull a sanguine move on me and expect to me to be jolly about it.

But then again I’m an introvert, so being “out there” drains my energy, at times.

I’m just at a point in my life, with all that’s happening, where I cannot “go with the flow” that goes against my core values.

Living a lie is tiring.

There is power outside your comfort zone.
