Replace Your S** t Habits With Good Ones

I kept on seeing and hearing the name Simon Sinek being projected in my head.

Simon Sinek.

As if stuck in the frontal lobe of my brain.

Simon Sinek.

All this, haunting, while trying to sleep.

So here I am, writing about him.

I don’t know much about him.

He was first brought to my attention by a business partner who has a background in medicine.

Google Sinek.

From the little I know of him is that he’s a speaker.

He speaks about most about leadership. On what defines a leader and what drives her. Reasons why they are true leaders. Amongst other things.

He’s available on different social media sites, I also follow him on Twitter and IG.

He’s an author as well, he wrote Start With Why.

And there are lots of videos on the ‘Tube that have he’s talks.

I think there’s a vid of one of his talks I posted in one of my blogs that I thought was awesome.

There’s a bias that comes with being a leader that I want to take advantage of.

The monetary benefits of being paid to solve problems being one of them.

It’s as if followers create problems while leaders get paid to solve them.

So I’ve been listening to some of his audios as well. Him, John Maxwell and Gary Vaynerchuk are the 3 guys I’ve been filling my head with of late.

And Eric Thomas. #TGIM

I guess I can be obsessed with certain things in my life, such as my personal development.

If I don’t invest the time for it, noone else will.

Then I will just be like the rest of them, blaming my job or spouse or community or the government or the gods for my current, undesirable situations.

Not realising that the true problem here is me.

I fix me, all else gets fixed.

It’s an inside job.

Be A Serial Optimist

“No one has power over you unless you give it to them, you are in control of your life & your choices decide your own fate.”
~ A Tweet from @TheGodLight

You must always look for the silver lining.

You must always look for the good in all things.

And this must be done BEFORE shit hits the fan.

Because it’s easier to set the sails of your boat, your mind, in calm waters.

(So practice when the going is good.)

It’s another matter when the same boat needs setting in a storm.

(Now you implement when the going is rough.)

You could look away and tell yourself, “There’s no storm. There’s no storm. There’s no storm.”

Because that’s not the truth of the matter when your emotions feel that there’s nothing BUT storm about you.

“What you resist will persist.”
~ Carl Jung

Accept the storm.

Allow the storm.

Then look into how you could build the momentum of moving yourself through the storm.

“If you’re going through hell, keep going.”
~ Winston Churchill

Complaining and taking persist action towards improving your situation is better than just complaining while sitting on your hands.

“Take MASSIVE, consistent, action.”
~ Anthony Robbins

I love you.

Thank you.

Worst Case Scenario: What If The Internet Were To Shut Down?

These Mayans 2012 predictions couldn’t have come a better time, if only the movie “2012” could have been released in 1984 neh? It would have made the “predictions” less believable, Internet and all.

The Internet shutting down?? I know, I know the likelihood of that happening are slim to none, just like how that crazy scientist proposed how the world is in actual fact not the center of the universe.

Just thought I should probe your mind a little, in the very sober holiday season state you are in.

How well insured are you against something of that magnitude happening though?

Can you use your online skills offline as well?

Maybe I just idolize the past but I believe that one needs to include diversification in the way one sees the Internet also.

So that just like the world ended in the year 2000 & the Mayans prediction comes true, we would have in our possession hard copies of the fun stuff we posted on the net.

I hate to say it, but come to think about it, if people buy into these predictions like they did the millennium craze, enough to influence other spineless crowd followers into fear, then I have no choice but to capitalize on this unfounded fear of death like I know other corporates will.

And knowing what the media is capable of – see Zeitgeist Movie – I am sure they will play their part in trying to make us run around like headless chickens while reaping the rewards of our staged vulnerability, as short term as it might be.

Who knows, maybe they will prolong this fear by leaking rumors of how one can’t be really certain WHEN the world would end (remember the fun the media had in issuing the “war on terrorism”), holding us in the state of uncertainty while finding a way to vacuum clean our pockets.

If you teach a large enough crowd how to fear, then you will always have control over them.

The modern day version of mass dictatorship.

Online journals should have offline versions.

Notes on your “crack”berry must be written out for you to see whether the battery in on or off.

Something to re-awaken your senses, to make you feel human again, something you can touch, smell, taste, hear, and see.

Interacting with another human being instead of feeling repelled by them. Having a fear of crowds but no minding participating within a forum of a million or more people globally.

Relationships are key, heavens, you might even realize that they are the link to everything else. As in the state of your overall relationships are the result of the state of your finances and your health.

When chaos abounds within your life or/ and body remembering the fundamentals could save your life. That in how we are human BEINGS and not human DOINGS.

Slow down.

Close your eyes.

Take a deep breath in and feel yourself taking a slow, deliberate breath out.

And see things (life) from a different love (light, same thing).

Yours in eternal peace, and ever-flowing joy,

Musa

PS. Yes, with all things said “2012” is quiet entertaining, if Sci-Fi and thriller and killer graphics are your thing.

I absolutely love the ending though when the world…nah, what a spoiler that would be. Grab a copy retailing at Amazon.com for $14.99 at the time of this posting, if you don’t have one already or the DVD rentals are out of stock, to know what I meant about the awesome, awesome ending.

How A Breaking Heart Can Be Good For You

I guess if you wake up the next morning still having to deal with the same situation you encountered the day before, change your request to the Universe from “please make this thing easier” to “please make me a better person.”

And it is through that empowering alternative prayer to Life that the “thing” becomes easier.

The only thing you have total control over is yourself. So focus on being a better person in order for everything else to be easier.

The Magical Power Of “Thank You” In Your Life Heals All Wounds

What I love about Thank You Power by Deborah Norville was the exercises she had within her chapters that allowed the reader to put what she calls “Thank You Power” (a state of gratitude that instils fulfilment, purpose & other joyful emotions within people’s hearts, amongst other limitless uplifting benefits) to the test.

One of them entailed writing out, on a blank piece of paper, 3 new things every day, that you are grateful for, and why.

That this:

1. Thank you ___________________________________________________________ because

_______________________________________________ .

2. Thank you ___________________________________________________________ because

_______________________________________________ .

3. Thank you ___________________________________________________________ because

_______________________________________________ .

The whole point of the exercise is to steer you towards better feeling emotions, even if you are currently in a pleasing mood.

She encourages the reader to make it a point to write out this list of three things that you are grateful for, and to do it on a daily basis, with her providing scientific research of the profound results the daily exercise had on people to back it up.

Yes, Thank You Power has been tested, and all of the results were in favour of those willing candidates that practiced feeling gratitude & expressing gratitude on a daily basis – not as a chore but opening their hearts so to be healed by words of gratitude their soul is constantly consoling them with.

The book – Thank You Power – also has inspiring stories of how people benefited from practicing gratitude then Deborah Norville even goes on to tell of the miraculous results produces by daily gratitude with people dealing with shocking experiences life, at times, has a tendency of throwing at us & even other stories of how people tend to recover faster from traumatic experiences through the use of the transformational power of daily gratitude.

So put it to test, give thanks to people, things and circumstances that made the day more convenient for you.

Deborah Norville also noted of the people that she interviewed in her book, that these people were more positive about the future. They were healthier, happier & richer.

This brings to mind what spiritual teachers keep on saying, in how good things tend to come our way when we release the things that make us hurt inside. Things that hold us back in succeeding in life.

One of the best releasing techniques I know and have ever come across AND to experience, which in turn has led to more productivity and more faith in my ever more prosperous, loving and healthy, future in my life, is gratitude.

See article about Gratitude Rock I wrote some time ago.

With that said I encourage you to get your hands on Thank You Power: Making the Science of Gratitude Work for You and marvel at how “lighter” life becomes through almost effortless conjuring of gratitude.

Thank You for taking the time to read this.

The Lies We Tell Ourselves Become Our Truth

My observation has led me to believe that I’ve been living a lie.

We all are.

And if we lie to ourselves long enough we come to believe our repeated lies that either bring fear or love into our lives.

This became clear when revisited the idea that my life is just a reflection of my focus.

The heavy head, dry throat, body tension & fatigue, limited air intake when I wake up in the morning…but wait a minute, I said to myself as the sleep begins to wear off, I’m sure I slept sober last night.

My thoughts begin to clear and that’s when I realised that the previous day’s emotional disease not only refused to phase off with my transition from my conscious to dream state but – like all thoughts we hold on to for long periods, manifested into the body.

I immediately identified this imbalance and began putting a principle I learned that can fix this for me.

“Focus on how you would like things to be rather than how things were/ are.”

Since I had images of wealth in reserve, images I am currently, progressively working on making my physical reality, I started fueling my lungs with emotions of joy, faith, love, gratitude, hope, pride…deceit?

I was lying to myself.

A lie I continue to invite others to embrace and practice religiously, pun intented.

How can I tell people to lie to theirselves, the same lie was processing through my veins just a moment ago, when I was not feeling the happy feelings of joy, love, etc, when all my body is giving me feedbacj that all is not as well as it should be?

I should be ashamed.

…then again isn’t everyone doing this?

Isn’t eveyone lying to themselves?

“I can’t do this and that.”

“I’m ugly.”

“I’m going to be successful.”

“I’m sick.”

“I love you.”

All the above are lies that can change in a split second, some take time for us to believe, but when we do we begin to live them.
