Winnie Madikizela-Mandela (1936-2018)

95308433f3394a58b30d64e0c82c99aeIt’s a sad day today with us laying to rest Winnie Madikizela-Mandela.

It was a huge funeral procession, which almost worthy to the individual.

Someone praised so much in death but wasn’t a celebrated in life.

But such is the way of the world.

One could go as far as saying that she kept former president Nelson’s name alive during his 27 year incarceration.

Keeping him relevant, inspiring artist’s like the late Brenda Fassie to sing songs about him.

At time that when the streets where on fire.

Literally.

The aftermath being relived in the minds of our parents and grandparents.

Influencing how we are raised.

In this “democratic” Republic.

May her soul rest in peace.

My Leader.

The Fixer

B33rFzqCYAIREuFSometimes when the road ahead looks very dark, anxiety levels go up.

That’s when I come to you God to help shed some light.

But if the road I’m taking vele has no street lights then I’m relieved knowing that you are by my side.

I’m taking this knee with this post because I’m also in dire need so my ancestors need to be also involved in this prayer.

Because without them I would be here, and without You they wouldn’t have been.

I light my candles and incense with this update in gratitude of what I already have.

Thank you for our business.

Thank you for our jobs.

Thank you for the shelter you are providing us.

Thank you for the water and lights that we sometimes take for granted.

Thank you for the food we eat.

Our perfect health and the rich relationships we have.

Thank you for the clothes on our backs.

And the large amounts of income that come to us through various sources, with increasing frequency.

All praise goes to you God.

I am bound to make flops along the way.

I just want to thank you for softening the falls.

Thank you for giving me the courage to fail forward.

Because there is no learning without falling. And I need to learn so I can grow to be my better self.

Continue guiding us through to our better self.

Yours in gratitude,

Amen

Stop Giving Your Power Away…

Execution_by_Kiss…expecting other people to make you happy…

…Thing is I’m not saying you shouldn’t feel valued at work.

But feel like if that’s the basis of you define how good your company is, it should be a testament of your character.

You are one of those who have an entitlement mentality.

Expecting other people to make you happy.

And if they don’t, you throw your toys out the cot.

Ranting about how unfair life is, and not taking 100% responsibility of your life.

Everybody else must change before you can change kinda deal.

And that keeps on the back foot.

Because you are waiting for something you don’t totally have control over to change before you are happy.
But if you get your shit in order, making sure that you come first and not depending on others to validate you, I think that gives you power.

More control.

You gotta take care of you first, because should you lose your job, the job you identify and associate your worthy by, what then?

Depression?

Suicide?

Guard against that shit is all I’m saying.

Know your worth.

I love you.

I’m sorry.

Please forgive me.

Thank you.

“You Are Not Alone…”

51Yyzvo-TOL._SX304_BO1,204,203,200_After reading Robert Kiyosaki’s Rich Dad Poor Dad: What The Rich Teach Their Kids About Money That the Poor and Middle Class Do Not! I decided to quit my government job so I can start making money in the stock market.

It was the dumbest idea I had because I should have already been making money in the market already, before even thinking of letting go of my “secure” job.

At the least making the income from it that exceeded my expenses.

Now that is a good reason to consider dropping the 9 to 5.

So as you might have guessed, the project was a flob.

Leading to me losing my job, leading me asking my mother for lunch money when she went to work in the morning, since I was living with her at the time.

Losing my car, which was still financed by the bank.

Losing my self esteem and confidence.

And I kept saying that I’m ok…but I wasn’t.

I was depressed but I told myself I wasn’t.

With me not eating and if I did eat I wasn’t eating right.

51aAy2A9NiL._SY344_BO1,204,203,200_Spending most my time in my room, playstation all day.

I’m not saying Robert Kiyosaki was the cause of my depression, see Rich Dad’s Before You Quit Your Job: 10 Real-Life Lessons Every Entrepreneur Should Know About Building a Multimillion-Dollar Business.

I was in the dumps but I didn’t want to admit that I was.

Something that happens to other people and not me, kinda thing.

Sometimes you are too proud to tell the truth about yourself.

Sometimes an intervention can pull you up and out, so you can try again…better.

Sold my playstation.

Brushed up my CV.

Went out again applying for jobs and getting interviews so to go back in the rat race again, and doing it right this time around.

To try again.

To fail my way to success.

But what I’m trying to put across is that doing something, the mere act of taking action, helped.

Taking action helps.

Just doing…something…anything that will keep your body moving helps.

But I think your faith is the ultimate defining factor.

I like how Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson puts in this 2:36 min video on Facebook.

Even Dr. Norman Vincent Peale said it is his book The Power of Positive Thinking, “Feeling listless, write a list.”81ND4ZcIsxL

Motion creates emotion. – Anthony Robbins

Thank you.

I’m sorry.

Please forgive me.

I love you.

It’s Not About You..

367b2e86-f2d0-4147-895b-c4dc7abc595c.jpegI think if you feel crappy, doing something of value for someone else, without expecting anything in return helps.

When you make it about them, then you get the focus away from you, and make it about the other person.

A thing or two I learned while reading a Norman Vincent Peale book.

Thank you.

I’m sorry.

Please forgive me.

I love you.

The Revenant

the-revenant-2015.39576

“A revenant is a visible ghost or animated corpse that was believed to return from the grave to terrorize the living.”

There’s this movie trailer with Leonardo and Tom about their upcoming movie “The Revenant” and how it’s based on a true story.

It had me thinking about how each and everyone of us has a story to tell.

Because for all of us, life is happening at the same time.

And those life experiences are experienced on different levels.

How each of us have a pocket of life stories to tell to anyone willing to lend an ear.

With some parts of our lives are more intense that others.

And how us overcoming such extremes can make for a good movie that inspire others.

About how through the countless pounding our bodies, minds and souls can take…WE ARE STILL HERE!

You are your own inspiring, true life story movie.

Remember that.

You are deserving.

You are loved.

You are successful.

You are sexy.

You are important.

You are brave.

You are strong.

You are awesome.

You are unique.

You are powerful.

You are beautiful.

So rise from the grave of negative definitions you have buried your magnificence in, and terrorize the living with your brilliance!

I’m sorry.

Please forgive me.

Thank you.

I love you.

Change the Way You Look at Things & Things You Look at Change

“When fate hands us a lemon, let’s try to make a lemonade”
~ Dale Carnegie,
author of “How to Make Friends and Influence People”

Sometimes when things happen, at first look like things aren’t going your way.

Only to find, in retrospect, that “things” were really pushing you in the direction of what you want and where you want to be.

For example:

The word is that BlackBerry will be doing away with their BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) which allows for unlimited internet downloads, unlimited internet access and social networking and emailing at a charge of R59 per month (about $6.46c per month).

Unlike America we South Africans, for the most part, do not have free internet.

Data bundles need to be bought and once they are done, you’re done.

So just imagine, with the amount of time you spend downloading apps and surfing the net and social networking, how much do you think you will send per month, at a charge of let’s say $1 per 1 MegaByte?

I guess one good thing that will come out of this would be longer BlackBerry battery life, due to the lack of usage of course.

I thought to myself, after reading the breathtaking headline (without reading the actually story mind you)*, that I might as well get myself an iPhone, since BlackBerry is doing away with BIS.

Truth be told it’s the latest BlackBerry devices (BlackBerry 10) that do not cater for BIS, anything prior does. So all is not lost ☺

And if I’m going to be paying for my data services I might as well be paying for something worth my money.

Sorry RIM, I mean BlackBerry… whatever you go by these days.

But Apple so far has nicer features than you & the only thing that was keeping me on board – like most users in other African countries & India I hear – was the BIS…. Short on BlackBerry anyone?

That’s when I stopped and said, “Wait a minute. I’ve always also wanted to get myself an iPhone, maybe this was the Universe’s way of pushing me towards getting one?”

One of the ways you can attract the things faster in your life is by imagining, with as much vivid detail as possible, how happy and excited and relieved you will feel once you have the thing you want in your possession.

Something that Dr. Joe Vitale spoke about which you can read more about when you go to this previous post.

When you act as if, like in the example of “dressing for your next promotion,” you activate a law of nature known as the Law of Attraction which pulls in opportunities for you to take action on.

But you need to act like you already HAVE what you want, sincerely and repeatedly, in order for the Law to work.

The action that will lead to you receiving the results YOU want, which in the above example happens to be a promotion.

Be creative and use every opportunity you can to speak and think and act as if the thing you most desire is already in your possession.

In truth you need to find reasons to feel good, if not to feel an improved feeling, not for the sake of goal achieving – but for the sake of feeling good.

Solutions and opportunities come to you when you are seeking an improved feeling than when you whine about how awful things are for you.

As truthfully as that may be for you currently, nothing improves until YOU improve.

Which is what you want at the end of the day right?

For things to get better?

It’s an inside job.

You need to work for things to work for you.

Like the title of one of Neale Donald Walsch’s books, When Everything Changes Change Everything.

With that said…Come to papa you wonderful iPhone you!!!

Thank you.

I love you.

PPS: Always find a way, in fact practice it often enough until it becomes a habit, to look for the good in all difficulties.

Find a reason on how you could benefit from it all.

Find the silver lining – that way the sun will always be shining for you while everything else around you seems is gloomy.
