“You Are Not Alone…”

51Yyzvo-TOL._SX304_BO1,204,203,200_After reading Robert Kiyosaki’s Rich Dad Poor Dad: What The Rich Teach Their Kids About Money That the Poor and Middle Class Do Not! I decided to quit my government job so I can start making money in the stock market.

It was the dumbest idea I had because I should have already been making money in the market already, before even thinking of letting go of my “secure” job.

At the least making the income from it that exceeded my expenses.

Now that is a good reason to consider dropping the 9 to 5.

So as you might have guessed, the project was a flob.

Leading to me losing my job, leading me asking my mother for lunch money when she went to work in the morning, since I was living with her at the time.

Losing my car, which was still financed by the bank.

Losing my self esteem and confidence.

And I kept saying that I’m ok…but I wasn’t.

I was depressed but I told myself I wasn’t.

With me not eating and if I did eat I wasn’t eating right.

I was in the dumps but I didn’t want to admit that I was.

Something that happens to other people and not me, kinda thing.

Sometimes you are too proud to tell the truth about yourself.

Sometimes an intervention can pull you up and out, so you can try again…better.

Sold my playstation.

Brushed up my CV.

Went out again applying for jobs and getting interviews so to go back in the rat race again, and doing it right this time around.

To try again.

To fail my way to success.

But what I’m trying to put across is that doing something, the mere act of taking action, helped.

Taking action helps.

Just doing…something…anything that will keep your body moving helps.

But I think your faith is the ultimate defining factor.

I like how Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson puts in this 2:36 min video on Facebook.

Even Dr. Norman Vincent Peale said it is his book The Power of Positive Thinking, “Feeling listless, write a list.”81ND4ZcIsxL

So if you are feeling dead inside then get into motion.

Do You Know What Cures Fear? 

There was this obstacle course that my team and I undertook which also included a tightrope.

It’s based in Bryanston, I don’t know if you’ve heard of it.

But I won’t mention it by name because my colleague broke her foot during one of the jumps there. And that wasn’t cool.

Sure granted the jump was not exactly according to the facilitor’s guidelines but family first, you know?

Anyways, you climbed up these steps to reach the beginning of the tightrope and below was the safety net, and on the other end are steps you can use to climb down once you have made it to the other side.

It’s shit scary being up there.

The heart starts beating faster once you let go of the balcony located at the beginning of the obstacle to walk the rope.

It was me, the rope and the safety net below.

The unknown is scary at the beginning.

Letting go of what you know is even scarier.

I think that is why your why is important.

The reason why you are doing it.

Whether it’s worth risking it all.

If you don’t have that then you won’t let go of the old in the pursuit of the new.

It’s like what Doug Wead Skip Ross said: action cures fear.

If the why is clear, the how is easy.Keith Abraham

You Ever Noticed The Voices In Your Head? 

Success lies outside your comfort zone. 

I don’t know what that means for you, but for me this means that if what I am doing now is not producing the things you I want, then I might need to do the uncomfortable stuff that will give me the results I want. 

Should you want different results then you do the uncomfortable to produce the new results that you want. 

Self talk contributions to your current results. 

It’s the words you tell yourself in your brain that lead to the actions you take. 

And it’s from these actions that produce the results in your life. 

So it hit me that if I use affirmations to influence the actions I take, then I might get the results I’m looking for. 

Affirmations are just words you tell yourself. 

The jive is that most, maybe not you but I am a victim of this, tell ourselves negative things most of the time. 

Things that stop you from change. 

I don’t know why hey…

…maybe it’s from people we associate most with or the TV we watch or the news we read or the Presidents we elect. 

So now we are led to think that the world is negative. 

That’s were things like affirmations come to play. 

They interrupt the negative patterns we play in our minds and inject it with something positive. 

I’m sure you can do your own research about how to structure your affirmations. 

And then you can just repeat the phrase to program yourself into getting what you desire. 

Phrases like the ones Bob Proctor used, author of You Were Born Rich: I am so happy and grateful now that… (this is were you list your desire). 

In a nutshell, positive affirmations help you with moving out of your comfort zone.

You Ever Saw A Scary Movie?

Making a habit of sidelining your life goals because of how hard achieving them will be is a bad habit.

Rather find yourself within the field that runs hand in hand with what you ultimately want in life, even if at the time the pay isn’t good.

Your initial sacrifices coupled with your desire to achieve and succeed in your life’s passion will eventually pay off.

Living life short selling yourself will only lead to regret in your late years.

Rather live a challenging life fighting for your dreams.

Than a quiet one with no stories to tell your grand kids.

I don’t want to be a boring, poor granddad living with my daughter.

Talk about a scary movie.
