God, give me grace to accept with serenity

the things that cannot be changed,

Courage to change the things

which should be changed,

and the Wisdom to distinguish

Taking, as Jesus did,

This sinful world as it is,

Not as I would have it,

Trusting that You will make all things right,

It’s Not Always About the Money

Avoid making buying something the only way you can attract something you want into your life.

For instance I wanted a 9 bar fin heater.

So I used an award system at work that allowed me to use the points I won to get myself a 9 bar fin heater.

No money was exchanged.

I wanted a new bed.

The bed my grandmother bought during her stay with us was too high so we exchanged beds.

A win-win.

No money (on my part) was exchanged.

I wanted a black BlackBerry.

Mother bought me one for my birthday.

Again no money was exchanged.

The majority of the clothes in my wardrobe came as gifts from family members, friends & the people I used to work with.

Again, no cash came from my pocket in the purchasing of them.

There was this other time I was craving for a Wimpy breakfast.

Someone paid for that breakfast.

Same goes for that time I wanted to watch a movie only to find that I’ve been going for so long that I now had enough points to watch on for FREE!

Do not limit the unlimited ways the Universe would use to deliver the things that you want in your life by only focusing & expecting it to come to you through only one way.

Which in this case happens to be in you buying it.

Focus on what you want.

Then open yourself up to the unlimited ways it can come to you by imagining or visualizing the positive feelings you will feel once you have what you desire.

Mental Imagery + Negative Emotions = Negative Attractions.

Mental Imagery + Positive Emotions = Positive Attractions.

So be aware not only of What’s On Your Mind by HOW you think about the things that are on your mind.

“Leave Your Baggage Behind” by Dr John Demartini

Then go through those items, one by one, and ask yourself:

How did it serve me?

How did it serve others?

Respond to these two questions again and again, until you discover the benefits of these actions and events, and see the balance, the order, and the gifts resulting from them in your life and in the lives of others.

What’s On Your Mind?

That was what Facebook keeps asking me every time I log on.

I never took much interest in it until a friend of mine noticed that it does not ask what’s on your mind anymore, but has been modified to “What’s going on?”

The “loss” of the old that is to be now replaced by the new gave more clarity and emphasis to the “loss.”

It was at that point that I began to see social networking’s enticing pull to update your status in a different light.

I’m sure you’ve read Think & Grow Rich by Dr. Napoleon Hill –

(if you haven’t then this book would make for an extremely helpful Christmas present for you or someone you care for – Search for it @ Amazon.com for details)

– as this life improving book goes into practical suggestions on how to use what’s on your mind to the best use possible.

As in whatever it is that’s not only on your mind but whatever it is that DOMINATES your mind, will come to produce itself in your life.

Whether you prefer it to happen or fear it happening for you.

How IN HEAVEN does that work?! you might ask.

Have you ever noticed how whenever you think of something, your mind gives you more suggestions that come close to what you are currently thinking of?

Take, for instance, when you have something in your mind that worries you.

When it is said that you worry yourself sick what has happened is that your mind kept feeding things to your mind that are in harmony with what you are currently thinking about.

That’s why it is suggested you think about possible solutions and not focus on the possible hinders to the solutions your minds comes up with.

No matter how ridiculous these solutions might be for you at first, the idea behind this creative process is to get the ball rolling, allowing your mind to expand and continue coming up with suggestions that will begin to improve your current circumstances.

There’s something you should keep in mind, pun unintended, and that how thoughts compound on top of one another.

This is how a simple thing like feeling gratitude for things like:

» the clothes you are wearing…

» then following it up with being grateful for the various of luxuries that electricity is giving you…

» then following that up with how fortunate you are to have someone you love & someone how loves you back (conditional love, no?)…

…could have an incredible effect on your mind, which in turn will have an improved effect on your mood.

This all because you have deliberately taken control of what YOU choose to dominate your mind, which in this case happens to be Gratitude.

Energy flows where attention goes.

So Facebook, & your current life results if anything else, should serve as a reminder of what is on your mind.

Because, if the above is true, then what you are living is the effect of what was caused by your thinking.

Therefore in order to save yourself from experiencing things you would prefer not to experience, fill your mind with the things you would like to experience.

HANG OUT MORE with people you would like to be more like.

As a footnote, your mind does not recognize the word “not.”

As in if you say, “I do not what such and such.”

What your mind registers is you saying, “I do want such and such.”

So refrain from being an “I Do Not” kind of person and instead practice and enjoy being an “I DO” kind of person.

You attract what you think about the most, whether you want the thing or not.

PS: Be careful of “counter-attractions.” That is, thinking about something you want, all the while feeling the lack of it.

You need to pull it in with your positive emotions.

Your emotions either pull in that which you want in your life (these will be your good feeling emotions) or push that which you want away (these being your bad feeling emotions).

So feel good in your thinking.

Or at the least feel an improve feeling in your thinking and things that make you feel good will find their way to you.

Spirit of Gratitude

Spirit is something you cannot touch with your physical hands.

It’s something that you know.

Something that you feel.

Much like gratitude.

Something that my American friends publicly celebrate once a year, on the fourth Thursday of November.

And it is my assumption that, much like the rest of the world, once Thanksgiving is over we forget about it.

The principle of gratitude.

The process of gratitude.

The practice of gratitude.

It’s a law.

Like the Law of Gravity.

And like gravity it can be used to our advantage.

It can be used for our pleasure.

And that just makes me feel appreciation for this instant tool that you and I can begin using today, to better improve our attitude.

It is not what happens to us that hurts us, it is the meaning we give to what happens to us that hurts us.

And one way to change the meaning, so we could become motivated to take inspired action, is by being grateful right now.

You need to feel grateful for what you ALREADY have.

You need to feel grateful for what IS working for you in your life.

You need to feel grateful for the journey you have taken to get to where you are right now.

You need to feel grateful for the positive, or at least hopeful, conclusions and events that are coming your way in the future.

Gratitude pulls in more stuff for you to feel grateful for.

It’s as if your heart and soul is saying to the Universe/ God, “Bring me more people, things and events that will make me feel more of what I am feeling right now.”

This is true for all emotions, but when you deliberately use the power of gratitude to work for you, more things that you will be grateful for will come your way.

There’s nothing like activating the spirit of gratitude on a daily basis.

Saying thank you, and meaning it, does a lot more good to you more than it does the other person.

Writing out things that you are grateful for will, in time and when you keep at it and get emotionally involved in the process, will attract unexplainable yet favorable “coincidences” in your life.

It’s like tapping in to this vortex that produces pleasurable results for you, just because you are in a state of gratitude.

I also love how Maya Angelou advised Oprah Winfrey to affirm and say THANK YOU whenever she encounters something that upsets her, because saying thank you in the face of adversity strengthens your faith.

Always remember to adopt the spirit of gratitude daily, and to not take it for granted.

But the proof is in the pudding.

If you are looking for ways of experiencing different and improved life experiences, then try out expressing gratitude…for all things.

There’s a reason why you have attracted them in your life, and it is from your expressions of gratitude that you will source out the lessons that are taught from these experiences.

Allowing you to grow from them.

Allowing you to become stronger and wiser due to them.

Isn’t that something to be grateful for?
